Working towards the WINTER TREASURES Collection, it was all about how to save our eagerly collected summer harvest to provide us with enough stock to survive the cold winter. One way to conserve food is the drying process. Onions and garlic used to be beautifully braided, decorated with corn flowers and hanged to the ceiling for that matter. Old believes say that these plaited braids protect us against evil and sickness. Even garlic is believed to keep us guarded from demons, ghosts and vampires. So, as a matter of fact, this design does not only keep us warm, it protects us also against all evil.
